Experience Drives Creativity

As an artist I am primarily driven by process, I want to understand the world and processes of nature so i can manipulate them to create weird and wonderful happenings which replicate the awe of nature, while questioning the Impact we have on it.

THE WORK

an expression of experience.

As with all art something has to drive you to create from the offset. Use of materials and texture as an expression of self and ones experiences.

Exploring the World Through Art

BA in Fine Art Uos ipswich

due to graduate  2017

I have spent the past three years studying Fine Art at UOS Ipswich and am due to graduate this year. During my time i have received great feedback on my practice and even achieved student of the year.

Professional Practice with Patricia Colyer

2016 - 2017

Patricia Colyer is a practicing fine artist who works predominantly in oil paints. I have spent a year working with her regularly at her studio in Oulton Broad and have not only been able to practice and develop my painting style but have also gained a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Tricia currently exhibits in Snape and Aldeburgh, the fact that she has allowed me access to her studio and donated time to my studies has been both a great experience but has also been very humbling.

professional practice with Paul & Cath Richardson of "Steel Sculptures" Suffolk

2017 - Present

I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the chance to work with two such amazing artists. Paul dedicates most of his time to the creation of large scale sculptures which has allowed me to develop and improve my welding and cutting skills. While Cath works predominantly in oil paint but does most of the design ideas with Paul for their "Steel Sculptures" Business. Being given the opportunity to work along side such inspirational people has helped to drive my personal practice but has also helped me to gain a better understanding of what it takes to see larger scale projects through to fruition.
